My name is Karen Yeung. I am a User Experience Designer.
I am looking for the opportunity to contribute my knowledge and experience in user experience design.
I am interested in how human factors interact with technology and enjoy designing products and services that enhance user satisfaction.
My career to date has involved the complete process from concept to task and user analysis, information architecture, interaction and visual design.
I like simplicity in a final product and enjoy the process of thoughtful refinement and provide design solutions that balance the needs of both the end user and business stakeholders. I believe technology can improve people’s lives and people-centric design solutions are important to bridge the widening gap between people and technology.
I graduated from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia’s Master of Interactive Multimedia program.
I am currently working as a User Experience Designer at Yahoo!7 (Australia). I am design lead on a range of projects from regional to local leading products of both Yahoo!7 (AU) and Yahoo!Xtra (NZ).
My role is to lead the overall user experience strategy and interface design process, including brand and information architecture, user and task analysis, usability studies, accessibility, interaction and to visual design.
I am proficient in dealing with complex UI requirements and responsible for visualising and communicating design solution using sketches, mockups, and interactive prototypes with complete user interface design. I constantly strive for improvements in user experience quality and to deliver simplicity and innovation in design.
I have over eight years of experience in creating interactive projects, working from the concept, brand and information architecture, sitemap, through to wireframes, prototypes and into the final look and feel.
I am an active team player. I work and collaborate closely with product managers and the development team. I have the ability to distill complex relationships and concepts into understandable user models and to communicate ideas and design solutions to team members in meaningful ways.
I believe I can contribute my knowledge and add value to a design team. I am willing to accept new challenges and learn new things.
